6x Run Clubs in Eindhoven

Eindhoven's run scene has quietly become one of the most fun in the Netherlands. Here are six clubs worth knowing about — from beginner-friendly Sunday meet-ups to women-only crews.

Eindhoven is having a running moment

A few years ago, if you wanted to run in a group in Eindhoven, you joined an athletics association and that was about it. Now? You can pick a different club for almost every day of the week — and most of them end at a bar, a bakery, or a coffee spot.

The vibe here is also different from Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Less posing, more turning up. Mixed paces, no pressure, and a community that actually talks to new people — half the clubs even collaborate with each other on events like pasta runs and marathon weekends. Whether you're chasing a marathon PB or just trying to make friends in a new city, there's a club for you.

Here are six worth knowing about.

1. LightMile Runclub

LightMile run three times a week — Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday — and they're free, all-paces, all-welcome. Their tagline is "fueled by love, energy and passion," and that's pretty much the energy you get when you show up.

The frequency is the headline here: there's almost always a next run, so it's easy to make it a habit. If you've never run with a group before, this is one of the easiest places in the city to start.

2. The Cubs Run Club

The Cubs run on a simple promise: bring locals and expats together, finish at a good coffee spot. Their community is properly international — members from across Europe plus folks from Turkey, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mexico, India, and basically everywhere else.

There's a weekly Saturday social run, and a Tuesday interval session for people who want to push pace. If you're new in town and want to meet people fast, this is the obvious move.

3. Social Run Club

Started in 2024 with a similar expats-meet-locals concept to The Cubs, and the two clubs actually collaborate often on events. Runs leave from Cyklist on Saturdays at 10:00 and Wednesdays at 19:30, with two Saturday pace groups so beginners and steadier runners both have a fit.

There's no membership and no minimum — just show up. The community runs via WhatsApp, and every run ends at a coffee spot.

4. Rotate Runclub

Sundays at 10:00 from Strijp-S. Two distance options — a short loop and a slightly longer one — both at easy pace, both genuinely beginner-friendly. Their thing is "connection matters more than speed, walk breaks are always okay," and they actually live that.

If you've ever felt out of place at a run club because everyone else was faster than you, this is the one.

5. Girls on Track

Women-only, Wednesday evenings at 19:30, 5km from Gerardusplein. Founded in 2024 by Lucie van Asseldonk specifically because a lot of women don't love running alone in the dark — so you go together.

The crowd skews 21–35 but they're not strict about it, and beginners are explicitly welcome. There's also a longer weekend run once a month.

6. Femme Runclub

Also women-only, but a different shape — Femme isn't Eindhoven-specific. It's a national crew that organises runs in different cities across the Netherlands at varying distances, with an Eindhoven edition in the mix. The motto is "your race, your pace," and the whole vibe is one big friend group with running as the excuse.

Good fit if you like the idea of running with women in different cities, not just one weekly local meet-up.

So which one do you join?

Honestly: pick one based on the night it runs and just show up. The Eindhoven scene is small enough that you'll probably end up running with people from multiple clubs anyway. Most of them are friendly with each other, and a lot of runners rotate between two or three depending on the week.
